As a registered charity Stay and Play is managed by a Board of Trustees who delegate responsibility for the day to day running of the Group to the Group Leader. All other staff are volunteers coming from the local community, universities, supported employment. Several volunteers are retired and are happy to be involved in this voluntary work. We also have 5 Trustees who are regular volunteers. There are several areas where help is needed.

Help in the kitchen: making soup / preparing lunch / washing dishes / making snack / cleaning at the end of each day.

Equipment: Taking all equipment out on a Monday morning 8.30 -  9.30 and putting it all away on a Tuesday afternoon  2.15 - 3.30

Playing: Helping with play activities in the playroom or outside. If you enjoy gardening we need help with this too.

Training is offered in any areas appropriate to the functioning of the Group. Three of our volunteers have gained employment through the work they have done with us, and two have entered university to become teachers.

Two volunteers at present are beginning to work towards their Adult Achievement Award.

In June 2012 we were awarded the Volunteer Friendly Award. It was renewed in 2015 and we will be assessed for renewal again this year 2018.

If you are a student and would like to do research work with us, please do make contact with the Group Leader.

Without volunteers, there would be no Stay and Play. At present, 4 Trustees volunteer weekly along with 6 regular volunteers.

Could you help us as we really need 10 regular volunteers volunteer,

We would really appreciate help in any of those areas.
